Shreveport Regional Airport recorded its busiest summer in 44 years, marking the fourth busiest summer in the airport’s 73-year history.
Between May and August, 307,597 passengers traveled through SHV, representing a 19 percent increase compared to last year. Airport officials credited the surge in part to new and expanded nonstop routes.
The seasonal nonstop flight to Nashville proved especially popular, carrying more than 5,400 passengers in just three months of operation. Nonstop service to Nashville, along with routes to Destin and Orlando, is scheduled to return next summer. Allegiant is expected to place tickets for the seasonal destinations on sale by the end of the year.
The airport also reported August as the 32nd consecutive month of passenger growth. Since January, 541,739 travelers have flown through SHV, an increase of 78,810 passengers compared to the same period in 2024. The year-to-date total reflects a 17 percent rise in activity.
Airport leaders said the steady growth highlights the increasing role SHV plays in meeting the region’s travel demand.
